Santa Monica & Tadasana Festival

This weekend I attended the Tadasana Yoga Festival in Santa Monica. Friday evening I took class with Dina Amsterdam. It was Inneryoga which is yin in nature and was the perfect class after a long day of driving down to LA from the Bay Area. The class was accompanied by Masood Ali Khan and his Hang drum. It was so relaxing!

Saturday, I attended three straight classes. The first was called Being of Power by Baron Baptiste. I had never taken one of his classes and it was no surprise to me that his class was very energetic and fun! He has a great sense of humor and way of inspiring the crowd.

After Baron's class, I attended the Off the Mat, Into the World Charity Class with teachers Seane Corn, Kia Miller, Hala Khouri, Suzanne Sterling, Kathryn Budig, Lisa Walford, Joan Hyman. Wow! What amazing energy in this class! It was such a treat to be led through a class by such inspiring women and all for a great charity! The women led us through a flow class and in the middle of class Suzanne Sterling led us through a freestyle drum dance! It was so much fun!

Then after that class, I took Elena Brower's "Connect" class. It was challenging and fun! She led us through quite a bit of core work and challenging arm balances eka pada galvanasana. It was so fun to practice next to my friend and great teacher from the Breathe Los Gatos, Daniella Cotreau! Elena was accompanied by the beautiful music of Masood Ali Khan, Sheela Bringi, and Manose Singh.

The Tadasana Festival was lots of fun and run very well. I look forward to going again next year!
